Shannon Strull, M.A.

Shannon Strull, licensed therapist at Families Counseling Center, Simi Valley, CAListening is an attitude of the heart, a genuine desire to be with another which both attracts and heals.
J. Isham

I began my endeavors in 1976 with a bachelors degree in history from UCLA. History, meaning "investigate" in Greek, taught me the connection between the past and how it affects the present. In 1996 I graduated from Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino with a Masters Degree in Marital and Family Therapy. I have since had 10 years experience in the field of child welfare working with children and families. I also work in private practice with various ages of people seeking help and change. I assist in the re-negotiation of current relationships and in the grieving of relationships, whether it is through divorce or death.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I act as a co-investigator with my clients, helping them to take only what they need from their past to make changes in their current experiences. I introduce the healing power of spirituality to my clients and encourage them to look to a higher entity, whatever it may be for them, and utilize that power in their road to recovery. I believe that the heart of change is through spiritual growth, which modifies current thinking and leads to more positive and constructive behavior. The clients acceptance in allowing a more spiritual way of thinking creates an optimistic mood, shaping better decisions and creating a domino effect for a better life altogether.

Being a therapist isn't just a job to me. I believe that although my training has provided me with the proper direction and knowledge I need to aid people in need, my life experiences and my commonality as a human being provide a much better understanding of their struggles.

Please feel free to call me at (818)512-7115 so that I can answer any questions you may have, or to set an appointment.

Families Counseling is the practice site of several licensed marriage, family and child counselors, and licensed clinical social workers,  who operate their own independent and separate private practices. The therapists here enjoy the opportunity to share office space, facilitate a professional exchange of expertise, and learn about each other's areas of specialty.

Each therapist's practice is separate, and each is solely and entirely responsible for any liabilities resulting from that practice.

Families Counseling  is owned by Deborah Tucker, M.A., M.F.T. (Lic. #ML 17142).
