Nobody likes to argue, but if we need to have a argument, it certainly helps to have some conflict resolution skills. Everyone can benefit from learning how to “fight fair” — couples, family members, co-workers — all of us can benefit from better skills.
The link for “Fighting Fair to Resolve Conflict” is from The Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Texas at Austin. It’s full of helpful tips. At the end, it talks about their counseling center and possibly using a mediator. If you’re not a Texas university student, and would like more personal coaching on how to use these skills, feel free to call us at Families Counseling Center at 805-583-3976 , or call a therapist in your area.
