Grieving during the holidays

Grieving the loss of a loved one is always hard. Special times like anniversary dates, family milestones, and especially the holiday season are even tougher, especially during the first few years. This year, rather than write our own piece, we’ve gathered together some information from other websites that we think will help.

And, for those who might be interested, take a look at an upcoming conference for widows that will take place in July in San Diego, California. The list of speakers is truly inspiring, as I’m sure the conference will be.

I lost my mother last year between Thanksgiving and Christmas and this has been really hard for me. I appreciate your links to these other sites that deal with helping me learn how to grieve during the holidays. This has been hard for the whole family but I was her primary caregiver so it has been especially difficult for me. I know in my heart that she is in a better place but I feel so empty without her here with me.
