Our local paper, the Los Angeles Times, has run several series on summertime “seasonal affective disorder”, or SAD. If you live locally, you may think I’m referring to our famous “June gloom”, where the thick marine layers comes in and hangs around, for weeks at a time, until summer weather officially kicks in. But summertime SAD is different, and isn’t related to a lack of light, like the more commonly known winter SAD.
